Bradley County (Tennessee) Commissioner Erica Davis was arrested on domestic assault charges Wednesday morning.

Bradley County sheriff's deputies were called to Davis' home in the 6800 block of Spring Place Road at around 10:20 a.m., according to an arrest report.

There, they spoke to a man, known to Davis, who said they'd been in a "heated argument" when she pushed him against a stack of boxes in an office area of the house, the report states.

She also scratched his face while trying to grab his phone, he told deputies.

Deputies noted a "fresh bleeding scratch" on the man's face and fresh welts and scratches on his back, according to the report.

Davis, however, told police she never touched the man and he had inflicted the injuries upon himself.

Regardless, detectives took photos of the man's injuries and took Davis to the Bradley County Jail for questioning and booking on the domestic assault charges.
