A 15-year-old boy was convicted this week of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 18-year-old Iziyah Spence last year.

Ja'Mond Moorer, who was 14 at the time of the killing, received the maximum juvenile sentence on Thursday, meaning he will be released on his 19th birthday, Hamilton County District Attorney spokesman Bruce Garner confirmed.

Spence was shot in the head in the 2000 block of Portland Street on Oct. 4, 2018. His body was later found in the 500 block of North Kelley Street.

Spence died four days later.

Moorer was arrested on Oct. 6.
