The victim in a Hurricane Creek house fire has been identified, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The body of Christopher Keith Smith, 37, of Ooltewah, was found by firefighters after a May 7 fire.
Firefighters were delayed in extinguishing the fire after a woman reportedly drove over to the fire hose and bent the coupling attached to additional fire hose. She has been identified as Tina White.
White has been charged with crossing a fire hose and reckless endangerment. The second charge was given since the main water supply was delayed while fire personnel were inside the burning home. The four-inch supply line did not have water in it when it was hit, but one section of hose had to be replaced before the hydrant was opened up, the release states.
The case is still under investigation by HCSO and Criminal Investigation Division.
