Chattanooga police searching for juveniles suspected of dragging victim and mutilating his foot in April carjacking

The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in locating two juvenile suspects involved in a carjacking that resulted in serious bodily injury to the victim.

Jaden Mason, 16, and McCayla Watt, 17, are sought in connection to the April 23 carjacking.

Police were called to the 5300 block of Dorset Street that Tuesday at about 10:40 p.m. and spoke to the victim.

The victim told police that when he tried to reclaim his vehicle, the suspects quickly accelerated, dragging him, running him over and mutilating his foot.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the "extensive bodily injuries sustained during the incident," the news release states.

After a thorough investigation, robbery detectives identified the potential suspects as Mason and Watt. (Per Tennessee law, information about juveniles charged with especially aggravated robbery is not exempt from public record.)

"Both suspects showed they have no regard for human life when they committed the carjacking and assault," the news release states.

They've been charged through juvenile court with especially aggravated robbery and attempted murder.
