Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, TBI searching for suspect, missing 2-year-old girl

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office are seeking the community's help in finding a suspect who reportedly took off with a two-year-old girl, according to a TBI tweet and HCSO news release.

The TBI released an Amber Alert after the suspect, 37-year-old Matias Martinez, allegedly left with Octavia Afiya Shaw after a Thursday traffic stop at the intersection of Dayton Pike and Boy Scout Road.

During the stop, deputies had asked Martinez to stand with the infant in the shade near the roadway while a female was detained for questioning. Martinez then left the scene with Shaw as the female was being questioned, the release states.

Martinez is a Latin American male with brown eyes, and stands approximately 5' 10" tall. He has a valid Massachusetts's driver's license. Shaw was last seen wearing a light blue dress with black sweat pants. She weighs approximately 30 pounds, is 2 feet tall and has a bi-racial complexion, according to the release.
