A man has died and a woman is in critical condition after a house fire Thursday night on Adonna Lane in East Ridge, according to the East Ridge Fire Department.
Police and fire officials responded to a call around 10:39 p.m., and arrived to heavy smoke and fire coming from a home on the 1300 block of Adonna Lane. A bystander said there were two people in the home, a news release states.
Fire officials removed James Robertson, 62, and Lisa Crowe, 62, from the home and both were taken to a local hospital where Robertson later died.
East Ridge fire officials are currently investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
