KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Tennessee say they captured an unrestrained inmate who escaped from a hospital and ran through the parking lot.

Cellphone video taken by a Facebook user who said they were leaving the doctor on Wednesday shows the man still clad in his striped uniform jogging away from the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

News outlets report authorities confirmed the Knox County Sheriff's Office was escorting Jason Hale into the hospital when he ran off into the woods.

A sheriff's office statement obtained by news outlets says deputies, police and hospital security set up a perimeter and captured Hale about 30 minutes after he escaped. Knoxville police spokesman Scott Erland said Hale was found near the hospital.

Records show he has December court dates for drug and theft charges.
