Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, seems to be everywhere these days. Used for pain relief, anxiety reduction and a myriad of other health issues, the hemp-derived oil has been increasingly sold in several states.

Since Tennessee legalized the use of the marijuana-derived cannabis oil, nearly a dozen stores in Chattanooga now specialize in its sale, including one operated by a former Baptist pastor.

CBD is available for purchase by itself, or as an ingredient in food and skin products. However, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is still collecting information on the compound, and a hearing held earlier this year has been seen as an important step toward clarifying regulations around it.
