A man wanted for murder and aggravated assault in Alabama was shot in Chattanooga early Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Spencer Xzavier Holden, 21, was found at a local hospital with a gunshot wound at around 2:23 a.m.. He told police he had caught a ride to the hospital and was unsure where he was shot.

Investigators then found that Holden had felony warrants for murder and aggravated assault out of Madison County, Alabama, the release states.

After Holden is released from the hospital, police say he will be transported to the Hamilton County Jail to await extradition to Madison County, Alabama.

AL.com states Holden has been named as a suspect in the Sunday shooting death of Zeandre Marjuan Paul Zachary, 25, outside a supermarket.
