ALAMO, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Tennessee say they've arrested a man suspected of killing a woman and fleeing in her car.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement that 52-year-old Leslie Earl Carter was taken into custody without incident Friday morning on charges of murder and theft. He's accused of killing Mary Finch in her home in Alamo.

The bureau says authorities believe Carter killed Finch Thursday and fled in her 2014 metallic gray 4-door Chevy Cruze.

He was arrested in Lauderdale County and then booked into the Crockett County jail.

Officials didn't immediately release a motive for the killing. The investigation is ongoing.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Carter has an attorney.
