Woman killed in Dayton Pike crash near Rhea County

A 33-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday near the Rhea County line, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Amber Neal was driving south near the 17000 block of Dayton Pike shortly before 5 p.m. when a northbound vehicle crossed over the line and struck her vehicle head on, according to a preliminary investigation. Neal was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the crash, the vehicle next to Neal's car was also struck. Two people were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time, a release states.

The crash remains under investigation and no further details were given.
