A Hixson High School student has been arrested for having a loaded handgun at school, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The school resource officer had received a tip this morning that a student at the school may be in possession of a weapon. The SRO worked with school administrators to find the student, who was found with a loaded handgun, the release states.
The student was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds.
