WHITEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The death of an inmate at a Tennessee prison has led authorities to partially lockdown the site as authorities investigate.
CoreCivic spokeswoman Amanda Gilchrist tells news outlets that Albert Dorsey was found unconscious in his cell on Saturday after his cellmate called for helped. Emergency medical assistance was provided and Dorsey was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities didn't immediately release Dorsey's cause of death. The Tennessee Department of Correction is investigating.
