Food City is expanding its new same-day delivery service into several more markets, including in Dalton and Ringgold, Georgia, and from its Tennessee Avenue store in Chattanooga.

The program is made possible through a joint partnership between the supermarket chain and Instacart, a nationwide on-demand grocery delivery service.

To take advantage of the service, shoppers need to visit the website at foodcitydelivers.com or download the Instacart App to fill their virtual carts with their items, including fresh produce, meats and everyday essentials, according to the grocer.

Orders will be delivered to their doorsteps, often in as little as an hour. During the online checkout process, customers will be prompted to enter their Food City ValuCard number to take advantage of added savings and Fuel Bucks, and choose a delivery window ranging from within one or two hours, up to five days in advance. Instacart shoppers will do the rest, the company said.

"Food City is committed to providing our loyal customers with the best products and services possible," said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer. "Our Food City GoCart curbside pick-up continues to be very popular and we're excited to have the opportunity to work with a great partner like Instacart to expand our e-commerce options to include the added convenience of home delivery."

The new service is now available in 104 locations, the company said.
