Interstate 24 eastbound is closed in multiple locations in the Chattanooga area Sunday evening.
A tractor trailer caught fire shortly after 7 p.m. at mile marker 183 near the ridge cut.
A separate incident closed Interstate 24 eastbound further west at the state line just outside Whiteside, Tennessee in Hamilton County heading toward Chattanooga.
The multi-vehicle crash was reported at 6:30 p.m.
The roadway is not expected to be cleared until at least 9 p.m.
