A Sale Creek barn was destroyed and the home damaged in a Sunday afternoon fire that stemmed from a fire pit, according to Hamilton County Emergency Services spokeswoman Amy Maxwell.

There were no reported injuries.

Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department personnel were dispatched to 11605 Bamboo Trail at 3:28 p.m.

They reported a fully involved barn fire when they arrived to the scene. Firefighters worked to contain the fire to the barn to keep it from reaching the nearby home. The 30x30-foot barn was used for storage.

The barn was a total loss and there was heat damage to the adjacent home, according to Maxwell.
