GRANTVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Deputies in Georgia were searching for as many as four suspects involved in an attempted home invasion and shooting that killed a 14-year-old girl.

Haley Adams, 14, was identified Wednesday as the teen who was shot and killed at a home in Grantville, news outlets reported. The Coweta County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that the girl was shot in the back and later died at a hospital.

Witnesses told deputies the suspects made demands at the home Tuesday night. They also kicked open the front door, said Col. James Yarbrough, with the sheriff's office.

It's unclear whether the suspects made it inside and how long they were there. Surveillance video shows the group take off in a car and shots were fired from the vehicle.

The sheriff's office said the incident was "targeted" but have not released a motive.
