ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- A longtime Georgia prosecutor who resigned last month has announced that the officers involved in six separate shootings, five of them fatal, won't be criminally charged.

The Athens-Clarke County officers were justified in their actions in all six of last year's cases, Ken Mauldin, who resigned on Feb. 29 as district attorney for Georgia's western circuit, announced Wednesday.

News outlets reported that a police review determined none of the officers violated department policy. Mauldin reviewed the cases after they were investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The deaths included:

- Thomas Swinford, who charged at officers with what police later learned was an airsoft gun.

- Carlton Brooks, who was accused of pulling a shotgun on officers who responded to a peeping Tom call.

- Aaron Hong, seen on police video rushing at officers while wielding a knife.

- Bonny Thomas, who police say charged at an officer with a raised knife.

- Nan Zhao, killed in a shootout with police while officers were investigating a noise complaint.
