TBI investigating fatal officer-involved shooting in Franklin County

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a man in Franklin County, according to a news post on the TBI Newsroom website.

At around 11:15 p.m. Friday night, a deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and an officer with the Winchester Police Department were involved in a vehicle pursuit with Larry Millraney, 39, who allegedly shot into a Franklin County residence.

Millraney wrecked his vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 130 and Old Estill Springs Road, and tried to retrieve a weapon as officers approached him. The officers then fired shots, fatally wounding Millraney, the release states.

No officers were injured. An investigation is ongoing.
