Tornado warnings, watches issued as strong storms move through Tennessee Valley

A round of strong to severe storms moved through the Tennessee Valley Tuesday night.

A tornado warning was issued for DeKalb County in Alabama until 10:15 EDT. A tornado watch was in effect for Jackson County until 11 p.m. EDT.

Tornado watches were issued for Bradley, Hamilton and Polk counties in Tennessee and Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties until 1 a.m. Wednesday.

A tornado warning was issued for Marion and Grundy counties until 8:45 p.m. EDT and Franklin County until until 8:30 p.m. EDT.

There was also a tornado warning issued until 8:45 EDT for parts of the Sequatchie Valley and Cumberland Plateau including Jasper and Kimball. A tornado warning was issued for Sequatchie County until 9:15 p.m. EDT.

A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Sewanee, or 7 miles east of Winchester, moving east at 35 mph.
