MIDFIELD, Ala. (AP) -- An Alabama teenager has been killed in a go-kart crash, authorities said.
The 14-year-old boy died Wednesday evening, as he rode the go-kart on a street in Midfield and was struck by a vehicle, Al.com reported.
The driver stayed at the crash site and was cooperating with police, Midfield Police Chief Jesse Bell said.
The boy was taken to Children's of Alabama, where he was pronounced dead.
School officials identified the teen as Josiah Scott, an eighth-grader at Rutledge Middle School. Grief counselors will be at the school Thursday, they said.
