While Chapman Development Group Inc. specializes in insurance restorations, it has much more to offer its clients.

"We handle all aspects of construction," said owner Christy Chapman, naming off other types of repairs including plumbing and electrical, new flooring, masonry, roofing and more. "The first step in working with us is for us to get to know our customer and their needs."

From large-scale home remodeling or commercial projects to the simple reworking of kitchens, bathrooms or adding new screened-in porches, Chapman Development really does it all. The East Ridge-based business's contractors also do work on all roofs or other home damages that insurance will not cover.

"Tax returns are a wonderful way to do those new upgrades that might have been put off," Chapman added.

Chapman Development provides start-to-finish project management. After making initial contact with a client, company representatives visit the home or business within 48 hours to determine a plan and begin work on the property. Making the process simple and as stress-free as possible is the group's goal, said Chapman. "Our involvement is from the day of contact until the customer

is completely satisfied with our services," she said. "A lot of times the customer has never had to file a claim [or taken on a home remodel] and may not be certain how the process works, and we do everything we can to eliminate that stress."

Customers give their input on everything from paint and roofing colors to cabinet design and flooring preferences. Choices are based on the estimate given to the home or business owner prior to the start of the project and in accordance with what the client has in mind.

"Customer satisfaction is our main concern, because without our customers we would never survive in this business," said Chapman. "There is nothing more satisfying in this business than to know that we were able to take a sometimes desperate situation and help restore things back to better than pre-loss condition."

She added that the group recognizes the very real truth that when people's homes are involved, their emotions are usually involved as well. Being in the construction business for more than 16 years, Chapman Development's owners see a need for a company that is devoted to their customers and to the quality of the work performed each time, she said.

"I think we are set apart from our competitors because our main focus is our customers and not the next dollar we bring in," said Chapman. "We are not satisfi ed until our customer is."

To ensure that customers are satisfied, the local family-owned business is comprised of a team of well-trained professionals. Team members work one on one with adjusters on insurances claims, and they all have extensive training in estimating programs and customer service.

"We would never send anyone into someone's home that we would not trust to be in our own," said Chapman. "I think being a family-owned business instills more confidence in the decision to use us."
