What are Tennessee's top five area for employment gains?

Among Tennessee's five biggest metropolitan areas, employment growth in the past year exceeded the statewide average of 3.59 percent in three major metro areas. In the past year, employment grew 4.6 percent in metro Cleveland, Tenn., but only 0.2 percent in metro Dalton, Ga.

1 NASHVILLE, yearly employment growth of 5 percent, or 36,190 jobs.

2 KNOXVILLE, yearly employment growth of 4.24 percent, or 14,040 jobs

3 TRI-CITIES of Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol, yearly employment growth of 3.76 percent, or 5,000 jobs.

4 CHATTANOOGA, yearly employment growth of 3.26 percent, or 7,620 jobs.

5 MEMPHIS, yearly employment growth of 2.69 percent, or 14,570 jobs.
