U.S. Xpress Enterprises cut 16 jobs at its Chattanooga headquarters this week from a reshuffling of tasks and hours in its operations and customer service divisions.
But company spokesman Greg Thompson said the Chattanooga trucking giant still has added a net 37 jobs in Chattanooga so far this year. U.S. Xpress is one of the nation's largest transportation carriers with more than 10,000 employees, including more than 1,000 workers at its Chattanooga and nearby Tunnel Hill, Ga., facilities.
