A real estate company headed by Tennessee House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick has become an affiliate company of CORFAC International (Corporate Facility Advisors), a global association of independent brokerage firms.

The Chattanooga-based McCormick & Co., Commercial Real Estate was started in 2013 after McCormick dissolved a partnership that operated a commercial real estate services firm. His current company serves the office, retail, mixed use and industrial property markets in the region, and also has a property management business unit. Peter Avisto is vice president of the company, which also includes Sally Bacon, Oscar Brock, Kelly Brown, Ben Garrison and Zach Roberts.

"McCormick & Company is excited and honored to join an organization of companies of the caliber that makes up CORFAC International and we look forward to developing new relationships with CORFAC members that will help us deliver better services to our clients as we grow our company," McCormick said.

Last year, firms in the commercial real estate network collectively completed more than 10,000 lease and sale transactions valued in excess of $7.4 billion. CORFAC ranks among the top 25 global brands in commercial real estate (by The Lipsey Company) and as one of the top 25 largest commercial brokerage firms or associations in the U.S. (by National Real Estate Investors).
