Chattanooga-based PlayCore adds Posacki as president

Chattanooga-based playground equipment maker PlayCore has hired the former head of Elmer's Glue as president.

Roger Posacki, formerly CEO of the Columbus, Ohio-based Elmer's Products who has served as an executive of a number of consumer products companies, will report to PlayCore Chief Executive Officer Bob Farnsworth.

Posacki's background includes working at a variety of companies focused on school and education markets. Prior to heading Elmer's, Posacki was the chief operating officer at Carson-Dellosa Publishing, overseeing its three operating units focused on education and curriculum. He also was president of Crayola of Canada, and previously worked in sales and marketing with Proctor & Gamble.

"I am extremely honored to be joining the talented team at PlayCore and look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of this dynamic company as we continue to build and strengthen communities through play," Posacki said in a statement.

Farnsworth said the company is "excited to cultivate and strengthen our quality team at PlayCore as our business continues to grow."

Founded in 1979, PlayCore is one of the nation's biggest playground equipment makers and has more than 1,000 employees nationwide, including about 100 at its corporate headquarters in Chattnaooga and another 350 at its production plants in Fort Payne, Ala.. It has broadened the business by buying companies that make grandstands and bleachers, timing and scoring systems for athletic venues and bike storage systems.

Playcore is owned by New York City-based private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners.
