These states have the most people suffering from diabetes

States with the most diabetics:

1. Alabama - 16.1 percent of all residents

2. West Virginia - 16.1 percent of all residents

3. Missisippi - 15.8 percent of all residents

4. Tennessee - 14.4 percent of all residents

5. South Carolina - 14.4 percent of all residents

Source: State of American Well-Being, Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index for 2015. The U.S. average rate of diabetes last year was 11.5 percent, up from 10.6 percent the previous year.
