Robertshaw, an Ithica, Ill.-based engineering and manufacturing company focused on controls and parts for the appliance industry, announced today that it has acquired Burner Systems International (BSI), in Chattanooga.

BSI is leading provider of gas train systems and engineered burner solutions that was established in 1960 and has production facilities in Lookout Valley. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"This acquisition complements our market leading gas products business and will create the most comprehensive portfolio of gas delivery products and systems for the appliance and commercial original equipment manufacturers. BSI is a great incremental fit for our growing portfolio of engineered products and solutions."Mark L. Balcunas, CEO and president of Robertshaw, said in a statement today.

The acquisition by Robertshaw includes BSI's 863 employees along with BSI's headquarters, engineering center and manufacturing hub in Chattanooga, Tennessee as well as world class manufacturing centers in Celaya, Mexico and Bedford, United Kingdom.
