The average price of gas in Chattanooga fell another 3.7 cents per gallon last week to $1.93 per gallon, or 22 cents per gallon less than the U.S. average, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 170 gas outlets in Chattanooga.
GasBuddy.com said today that Chattanooga gas prices, on average, dropped by 13.2 cents per gallon in the past month and were virtually identical to where they were a year ago.
"Over the next few weeks expect prices at the pump to move lower based on market fundamentals, not politics," said Gregg Laskoski, a petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com. "Inventories remain healthy and wholesale gasoline prices across the U.S. today, on average, are more than 10 cents per gallon lower than where they stood just a week ago."
In Chattanooga, gas prices remain the lowest today at Citgo and Kangaroo service stations in Middle Valley, where gas is now priced at $1.82 per gallon.
