Credit union opens second Food City unit
Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union on Thursday marked the opening of its second in-store branch at a local Food City grocery store.
Chattanooga's biggest credit union opened the full-service branch in the East Hamilton Food City store at the the intersection of East Brainerd Road and Ooltewah-Ringgold Road. The branch is similar to one the Tennessee Valley credit union opened last month at the Food City in Red Bank.
The in-store branches feature ATM connections to remote tellers who work in the TVFCU headquarters in downtown Chattanooga and handle transactions over internet and machine links. That allows the new stores to offer extended hours Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
