Hamilton Place mall names art competition winners

Hamilton Place mall will host the eighth annual student art competition awards reception today on the upper level near Sears across from the new H&M.

Students were divided into three categories by grade with first place winners receiving a $50 Barnes & Noble Gift Card; second place winners a $35 Barnes & Noble Gift Card and third place winners a $20 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. In addition honorable mentions were awarded this year.

"We were so impressed with the artwork that we received for this year's competition," stated David Meadows, general manager for Hamilton Place.

The winners are:

Grades K-5

1st Place: Tyler Gordon - Wolftever Elementary

2nd Place: Cambria Paris - Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts

3rd Place: Alex Guo - Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences

Honorable Mention: Isabella Greene - Chattanooga School for Arts & Sciences

Grades 6-8

1st Place: Shayanne Gaines - Red Bank Middle

2nd Place: Camy Hodge - Red Bank Middle

3rd Place: Shelby Massengale - Red Bank Middle

Honorable Mention: Melody Drymon - Red Bank Middle

Honorable Mention: Gracie Sanders - Red Bank Middle

Grades 9-12

1st Place: Katherine Poole - Sale Creek High

2nd Place: Alex McElhone - Sale Creek High

3rd Place: Makayla Pritchett - Soddy Daisy High

Honorable Mention: Natalie Holt - Soddy Daisy High

Honorable Mention: Chandler Turner - Sale Creek High
