What are the most stressed U.S. cities?

WalletHub compared 182 major cities across 39 key metrics, ranging from average weekly work hours to debt load to divorce and suicide rates. The most stressed U.S. cities are:

1. Detroit

2. Cleveland, Ohio

3. Newark, New Jersey

4. Baltimore

5. Philadelphia

6. St. Louis

7. Cincinnati

8. Birmingham, Alabama

9. Wilmington, Delaware

10. Shreveport, Louisiana

Chattanooga ranked No. 40 on the list. Chattanooga was slightly below average for work stress, but ranked near the top 10% of all cities for health and safety stress.

Among the 182 cities rated, Memphis ranked No. 15, Atlanta ranked No. 39, Knoxville ranked No. 71 and Nashville ranked No. 84.
