How smart are people in Tennessee vs. people in Georgia?

According to a study by SafeHome.org, Tennessee has the edge. In a measure of educational attainments that took into account the percentage of adults with Bachelor's degrees, high school graduation rates, median SAT scores and ACT takers meeting benchmarks, Tennessee ranked in the Top 20 states.

Tennessee ranked the 19th smartest state with a score of 254 on the study, while Georgia ranked the 25th smartest state with a score of 241. The smartest state in the U.S., according to the study, is New Jersey with a score of 337 and the "least smart" state is Idaho with a score of 79.

The 10 smartest states in order from 1-10 are: New Jersey, Utah, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Montana, Virginia, Kansas, Wisconsin, Oregon and Minnesota.

The 10 least smart states, listed from the bottom up, are: Idaho, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Ohio and Kentucky.
