Volkswagen Group sales fall in November

Volkswagen Group reported Friday that worldwide deliveries in November fell 9% compared to a year ago, dropping to 899,900 vehicles.

In North America, deliveries were down 14%, the company reported.

China vehicle sales fell 6.9% to 390,700. In Western Europe, sales slid by 13% to 265,000.

For the first 11 months, worldwide deliveries were off 16.5% to 8.3 million vehicles, according to the German automaker that has a production plant in Chattanooga.


Morning Pointe award goes to lead nurse

Robbin Darden, lead nurse at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence in Chattanooga, has received the Morning Pointe Senior Living Exceeding Expectations Award for outstanding service for the Appalachian Region.

The region covers 13 Morning Pointe communities in Southeast Tennessee and in Georgia.

Independent Healthcare Properties and Morning Pointe Senior Living presented its Exceeding Expectations awards at its annual conference last week, recognizing the most exceptional of its associates for demonstrating leadership and excellence in providing quality senior care.

Darden has been with Morning Pointe for 11 years, starting her career as a second shift nurse at Morning Pointe of Hixson before transferring to the resident services director position at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence, Collegedale, where she remained for over five years.

"I have learned and continued my growth with Morning Pointe, and I do not want to stop," said Darden.


Electrify America wins best-in-test

Electric vehicles magazine Charged has named Electrify America as its overall winner in its 2020 charging infrastructure Best-in-Test awards, according to the company.

The Charged team reviewed five of the major charging networks ,Electrify America, EVgo, ChargePoint, EV Connect and Greenlots. It looked at websites, app operations, app functionality, price transparency and payment, charging station environment, charging station functionality, service and hotline and payment options.

Electrify America, a Volkswagen subsidiary, scored highest overall, earning top marks in 4 of the 8 categories, the company said.
