With Tax Day delayed to July 15 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the personal-finance website WalletHub last week compiled its annual Tax Burden by State report, comparing the 50 states based on the property taxes, individual income taxes, and sales and excise taxes — as a share of total personal income.

The lowest tax states are and the total state tax burden as a share of income are:

1. Alaska, 5.16%

2. Delaware, 5.52%

3. Tennessee, 6.18%

4. Wyoming, 6.47%

5. Florida, 6.82%

6. New Hampshire, 6.85%

7. Oklahoma, 6.94%

8. Montana, 7.22%

9. Alabama, 7.36%

10. South Carolina, 7.48%
