Business Digest: David Braam joins Tennessee American Water to head government affairs

Tennessee American Water has named David Braam as senior manager of government affairs and economic development in Tennessee for the Chattanooga utility.

As lead for the company's legislative and business development efforts, Braam is responsible for economic development, legislative and regulatory strategy.

Braam has more than 25 years of experience in advocacy, government relations and legal roles within the state of Tennessee. He is a licensed attorney and has previously served as the director of legislation for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, as legislative liaison for former Gov. Phil Bredesen, and as deputy legal counsel for the Tennessee Bankers Association.

"David's experience and skills in successfully achieving agreement among varying interests will benefit our customers and communities," said Tennessee American Water President Darlene Williams.

A native of Cleveland, Tennessee, Braam earned his law degree at the University of Memphis and his bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia.

Cody Sims relocates Ameriprise office

Cody Sims, a financial adviser and franchise owner for Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. recently moved his offices to the Brabson Place at 412 Georgia Avenue in downtown Chattanooga.

Doug Dodson joins Live It! Realty

Jenny Noblit, founder of Live It! Realty, has hired Doug Dodson as one of its real estate agents.

Dodson, a life-long resident of Chattanooga, joins the team following a successful career in the health insurance industry.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga names three new board members

The Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga has appointed three new directors to its board of directors.

The new board members are Carol Barajas, vice president of nuclear oversight for the Tennessee Valley Authority; Fred Eldorado, director of production-model line of Volkswagen Group of America, and Kirby Yost, an attorney for Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, to its board of directors.

"They each bring extensive leadership experience in key areas that are vital to our future operations and growth strategies,," said Trae Vaughan, chair of the Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga.
