The Transportation Security Administration recovered a loaded Glock .380 caliber handgun at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport last week, according to the federal agency.

The gun was one of eight loaded firearms at security checkpoints uncovered by TSA at Tennessee airports last week, including one at every major such facility in the state, the agency said.

In each instance, TSA officers notified local enforcement partners, who removed the firearms and passengers from the checkpoint area, according to TSA.

At Nashville International Airport, TSA recovered four of the eight loaded firearms last week.

Other firearms were discovered at Memphis International Airport, McGhee Tyson Airport, and Tri-Cities Airport.
