The most dangerous states for COVID-19

The personal finance website WalletHub ranked the 50 states based on how well they have kept the pandemic under control and how much they are vaccinating.

According to the analysis, the least safe states are:

1. Oklahoma

2. Indiana

3. Ohio

4. Tennessee

5. Missouri

Source: WalletHub. The study is based on five key metrics for transmission, positive testing, hospitalizations and death, as well as the share of the eligible population getting vaccinated. The safest states, in order, are Hawaii, California and Virginia. Georgia ranks as the 16th most dangerous state, and Alabama ranks No. 18.
