Construction continues on Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United's new $62 million regional headquarters off Shepard Road.

Project: Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United regional headquarters and distribution center.

Location: Former Olan Mills campus off Shepard Road.

Owner: Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United.

Size: 275,00 square feet on 40 acres.

Investment: $62 million.

Contractor: Brasfield & Gorrie, Birmingham, Ala.

Architect/Engineer: Design Group Facility Solutions, Conchord, Mass.

History: Olan Mills processed millions of portrait photographs out of its Shepard Road campus before the company was sold to Minnesota-based LifeTouch in 2011. LifeTouch closed the facility in 2012. Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United bought the property last year. Demolition of existing buildings began in August. Coke's new facilities started going up in early December.

Scope: The facility adds 43 permanent jobs and preserves 270 existing jobs in Chattanooga. More than 50 workers are on the site. That number will increase as construction progresses.

Schedule: The facility will open Jan. 1, 2016.
