TVFCU names Jennings as head of diversity

The Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) has named Dionne Jennings vice president of diversity and inclusion.

Jennings previously served as president of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center in Chattanooga, where she moved the center in a new strategic direction and provided financial stability by leading fundraising initiatives, developing new programs and building strong community partnerships.

"With our growth comes the opportunity to enhance diversity within our organization and in our outreach to the community," said Todd Fortner, president and chief executive officer for the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, the biggest credit union in Chattanooga.

Jennings is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga and was recognized as a 2017 Woman of Distinction. She received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from Bryan College.

"I look forward to leveraging my experience to strengthen TVFCU's existing efforts to bring greater diversity, equity and inclusiveness to the organization," said Jennings.

Arnold named chair of La Paz Chattanooga

Kelly Rodney Arnold has been named chairman of the board of La Paz Chattanooga. He replaces retired Chattanooga police chief Fred Fletcher. She will assume board chair duties through the end of Fletcher's term.

Dr. Arnold is the founder and director of Clínica Médicos and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and OB/GYN at UT College of Medicine Chattanooga and has extensive experience working within the Latino community.

La Paz Chattanooga is the leading Hispanic/Latino organization in the southeast Tennessee that guides, connects and strengthens the community. Since its inception in 2004, La Paz has worked to build tolerance, opportunity, and mutual understanding in order to create an inclusive environment in which cultural acceptance can thrive.

The La Paz Board of Directors is made up of nine individuals.

Ryder joins CHI Memorial at Signal Mountain office

CHI Memorial Medical Group welcomes Tim Ryder, APN, to CHI Memorial Convenient Care – Signal Mountain.

Ryder received bachelor and master degrees in nursing from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tenn. Ryder was previously with the hospital medicine team at CHI Memorial, performing medical consultations, new admissions, follow-up daily visits, and discharge visits. He is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

CHI Memorial Convenient Care - Signal Mountain provides urgent medical care for many common conditions including allergies and asthma, fevers and flu, and stitches and sprains.

Miller inducted as Fellow in College of Surgeons

Ivo Aaron Miller has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the only oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the area to receive this honor.

Dr. Miller is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Center for Oral and Facial Surgery. He practices at their Chattanooga and Cleveland offices.

A native of Cleveland, Tenn., Miller is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Haley re-elected chairman of Miller & Martin law firm

Chattanooga attorney Jim Haley has been re-elected as chairman of the law firm of Miller & Martin PLLC. Mike Marshall from the Atlanta office, and Zac Greene from the Chattanooga office, have been elected to serve on the firm's Policy Committee with Haley, Hugh Sharber, Chris Parker, and Scott Parrish. This committee serves as the firm's managing board of directors and approves all major decisions for the firm across all offices.

Haley concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial, industrial and planned unit real estate, and in banking. He has represented developers, lenders, landlords and tenants, in a variety of complex and multi-state transactions.

Marshall concentrates his practice on corporations, mergers and acquisitions, securities and general business law.

Greene is a litigation attorney concentrating his practice on civil disputes and complex business litigation, as well as crisis management, white-collar crime and government investigations.

Amos joins Atlantic Capital as bank officer in Dalton

Atlantic Capital Bank announces the addition of veteran commercial banker Shannon Amos to assist with small business lending growth in the Northwest Georgia market. Amos was named vice president and business banking officer at the the Dalton, Ga., office.

Prior to joining the Atlantic Capital, Amos served as assistant vice president for Bank of America. He was also an owner and agent with Alfa Insurance. He brings over 15 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry with increasing responsibility, covering retail banking, credit underwriting, customer service and commercial banking.

"My experience as a business owner, banker and insurance underwriter has provided me with the expertise and insight to help customize innovative solutions to grow my clients businesses," Amos said.

In his new role, he will work with business clients with an annual revenue of $2 million plus in a broad spectrum of industries, including: manufacturing, wholesale, retail, distribution and construction.

Tourism group awards Becker as top manager

Joel Becker of M&M Productions USA has been selected as the "Tourism Manager Small Property of the Year" by the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association (TnHTA) at the organization's Stars of the Industry award ceremony in Gatlinburg.

The "Tourism Manager Small Property of the Year" award is presented annually in recognition of an employee in management who has a proven track record of management excellence, industry involvement and community service.

Becker manages operations and sales for audiovisual services at the Chattanoogan Hotel & Conference Center where he has executed 292 events for multiple key clients in less than a year.
