Flywheel Brands Inc. has broken ground on a new 6,000-square-foot office building in Hixson to meet the brand marketing company's expansion needs.

The building is going up on a 1-acre site at 2111 Hamill Road and is slated to be ready in spring 2019, according to the company.

Bart Simpson, Flywheel's vice president of client development, said the agency will put up a modern structure that satisfies the ongoing growth of the business.

"The overall concept of the structure is to embody efficiency and productivity in all aspects," Simpson said.

Erica Lee, Flywheel's marketing director, said the company has about doubled its workforce to 20 people within the past year.

"We're scaling quite quickly to accommodate the needs of our clients," she said. Lee said clients include not just local firms but businesses nationally including Google and Panasonic.

The company bills itself as a full-service brand marketing firm assisting clients in everything from logo development to putting it on a mug, Lee said. Its services include print material, promotional products, custom apparel, trade show displays and creative services such as photography, she said.

The new building is going up on a tract about a mile away from Flywheel's current Adams Road location. The company said it doesn't have a cost estimate of the new building.

Simpson said the structure incorporates sustainability features to minimize energy and resource consumption.

Designed by River Street Architecture, the building includes productivity elements strategically incorporated into the plans, the company said. Several common lounge areas will be positioned to promote collaboration, while a large meeting room will be utilized for team training as well as client visits.

A multimedia studio will also be constructed to support the company's continued production of educational and marketing content, including its own podcast, according to the agency.

Near the front entrance, a showroom will display the newest, on-trend promotional products, custom apparel and trade show display elements. Additionally, the design includes a full-size kitchen and hospitality space for team members and guests, and outdoor seating accessible by two garage door partitions, the company said.

"Creating a space to support the growth and needs of our team has been the foundation of this project," Simpson said about the business that has worked with companies since 1981.
