HHM Certified Public Accountants, a full-service CPA and consulting firm with locations in Chattanooga and Memphis, has appointed Brian Baker as a partner in its Chattanooga office. Baker will focus his time in the firm's tax practice.

Baker has been with HHM CPAs for several years and has over 20 years of tax experience. He specializes in offering tax consulting and compliance services to businesses in a wide variety of industries.

"Brian has gone above and beyond all the expectations we had when he came on board," said Donnie Hutcherson, HHM CPAs managing partner. "His knowledge, work ethic, and commitment to excellence have made him a natural choice to help lead our firm toward anticipated growth in the coming years."

Baker will serve as a partner on the tax team and has extensive knowledge of federal and state taxation while staying current with the ever-changing tax codes and regulations.

Before joining HHM CPAs, Baker was a senior tax manager at a CPA firm in Pennsylvania where he specialized in corporate and partnership compliance and consulting. He graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

 

Patty Martinez promoted to regional VP of operations for Vision Hospitality Group Inc.

Vision Hospitality Group Inc. announced Patty Martinez has been promoted to regional vice president of operations. Martinez joined Vision in 2012 and has since become a leader in several capacities, including her most recent role as regional director of operations. Her 24-plus years in hospitality enabled her to gain a versatile skill set that she will continue to apply as she oversees Vision's Greater Nashville hotels, as well as The Edwin and DoubleTree by Hilton Chattanooga/Downtown.

Natalie McDonald joins Siskin Hospital

Siskin Hospital announced Natalie McDonald as its new director of outpatient therapy services.

McDonald will oversee the operations of multiple outpatient clinics.

McDonald comes to Chattanooga from Springfield, Ohio, where she served as vice president of clinical operations for a corporation that contracts with hospitals as a management partner to operate their home health agencies across the United States.

She has nearly 20 years of health care management experience specializing in leadership, strategic planning, marketing, client relations, staff development, project management, organizational development, human resources and business process development.

McDonald received a bachelor of business administration from Ohio University, with a double major in marketing and healthcare administration and a minor in human resources.

 

Evann Freeman to join EPB staff

Evann Freeman will join EPB as director of government relations effective Dec. 17. In his new position, Freeman will lead EPB's government relations and economic development efforts.

According to David Wade, president and CEO of EPB, Freeman's experience positions him to coordinate EPB's engagement with elected leaders.

With more than a decade of experience as a government relations professional, Freeman has focused his public policy efforts on community benefit and coalition building. Lamar Alexander across Tennessee, most recently serving as the senior liaison in Middle Tennessee working closely with local, state, and federal stakeholders.
