Tickets for the upcoming SonRise Resurrection Pageant in Collegedale will be released Monday, April 7. That's about two weeks before the April 19 production, but you can't delay getting them. Organizers expect the 7,000 available tickets will be gone within 90 minutes.
Distribution will start at 6 p.m. at Hamilton Place mall, 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd., near the stage at Center Court.
Attendance at the pageant, offered since 1996 on the Saturday before Easter, typically ranges from 6,000 to 10,000.
The one-mile walk-through re-creates six interactive scenes from the Bible depicting the last days of Christ's life, death and resurrection. The production involves 500 costumed cast members, live animals and dramatic sets.
Tours begin in the sanctuary of Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists and continue across the campus of Southern Adventist University. Departures are scheduled every half-hour from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The route is handicap-accessible.
Tickets are free but are required for everyone age 7 and older. There is a limit of seven tickets per family, and the person picking up the tickets must be at least 16 years old.
