Ed Cook, one of the 10 artists whose work is included in the August exhibition at River Gallery will give a sketch demonstration from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5.
The demo precedes the "Sketch Show's" opening reception from 6:30 to 8 that evening.
Other artists with works on view this month are Amanda Brazier, Norman Davis, Margaret Dyer, Scott Hill, Tatiana Hill, James Courtenay James, Mia Kaplan, Nancy Nicholson and Anna Marie Pavlik.
The theme is interpreted broadly, with sketches made with oil paints, watercolors, pastels, charcoals and pen by a group of artists who work in different genres and styles.
River Gallery, 400 E. Second St., is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sundays and by appointment.
