Amy Elkins' "Black Is the Day, Black Is the Night" exhibition will be on view in the Cress Gallery at UTC through March 23.

Amy Elkins has been tapped as the spring 2016 UTC Diane Marek Series Visiting Artist and will be on campus for events Monday through Friday of next week, Feb. 8-12.

She will present a public lecture at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, in Room 101 of Derthick Hall, 624 Vine St. Her talk will be followed by a reception in the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St., for the opening of her exhibition, "Black Is the Day, Black Is the Night," which will be on view in the Cress Gallery through Wednesday, March 23.

Among the works is "Nine Years Out of a Death Row Sentence: Forest (childhood memory as described by a man 13 years into a death row sentence)," above.
