Fiber artist Rachel Nicholson, whose "Garden" is above, will offer a free felt-making demonstration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at River Gallery, 400 E. Second St.
Nicholson says she has been felting for more than 30 years and loves "all the qualities that make felt unique. It is a prehistoric craft and yet it looks like a very contemporary art form."
