Artists on the Loose, 11 professional artists who share studio space on Chattanooga's Southside, are mounting their next exhibition at Exum Gallery.

The group exhibition will open with a reception Friday evening, March 3. Realistic oil paintings, black-and-white photography and fine wood furniture are included in the show, which runs through Sunday, April 16.

According to a news release, each Loose artist is committed to the philosophy that original art is an important asset to the community and homes. "Therefore, we offer art for every budget."

Members are involved in prestigious art societies, have shown work both regionally and nationally and have garnered many awards. Jim Aplin, for example, is a nationally recognized portrait painter, and Terry Rafferty is a guest blogger for the Oil Painters of America.

Other Artists on the Loose are Maddin Corey, Ann Currey, Ellen Franklin, Bill Johnson, Cindy Procious, David Salerno, Leah Salerno, Virginia Webb and Janis Wilkey.

Artists on the Loose have an ongoing open house from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fridays at their studio space, 1401 Williams St.
