EXUM GALLERY

A reception will be held Friday, Sept. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. opening "Pilgrimages," an exhibit of photographs by Cam Busch and paintings by Durinda Cheek in the Exum Gallery at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 305 W. Seventh St.

"Pilgrimages" will remain on view through Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

Busch and Cheek have traveled together to sites in France and Italy, where they painted and photographed. Busch is displaying eight photographs from France, Italy and the Holy Land. She will also show 20 color photographs from the series "Eye of the Soul: Spiritual Illuminations of Celtic Christianity in Ireland," which has been exhibited in the Washington National Cathedral.

Cheek's exhibit in watercolors and oils depicts the interiors and exteriors of basilicas and cathedrals.

JEWISH CULTURAL CENTER

"Walls," a multimedia exhibit by local, regional and national artists, opened this week at the Jewish Cultural Center, 5461 North Terrace Road.

"A year ago I began thinking about the concept of walls, stirred by the talk of a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico, and the conversations in Israel about who is able to go to the Kotel (Western Wall in Israel)," says Ann Treadwell, program director for the Jewish Federation.

The selected pieces of art represent various thoughts about physical, mental and spiritual walls. A statement by each artist is displayed with its coordinating piece of art.

"Walls" will remain up through Oct. 27. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays. The center will be closed Sept. 21-22 and Oct. 5-6 and 12-13. There is no admission charge.
