Traveling troupe performing Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at regional parks

Back Alley Productions has selected "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for its fifth annual Shakespeare Summer Series.

Back Alley's traveling troupe will perform Shakespeare's well-known comedy for free in area parks. Although there is no admission, Back Alley accepts donations before, during intermission and after the show to help fund continuing Shakespeare productions.

Performance locations and times are:

» Aug. 3: Northwest Georgia Amphitheater, 220 Catoosa Circle in Ringgold, Ga., 8 p.m.

» Aug. 4: Northwest Georgia Amphitheater, 220 Catoosa Circle in Ringgold, 8 p.m.

» Aug. 11: Chatsworth City Park Amphitheater, 400 N. Second Ave., Chatsworth, Ga., 8 p.m,

» Aug. 17: Coolidge Park, 200 River St., 8 p.m.

» Aug. 18: Burr Park, 101 S. Hamilton St., Dalton, Ga., 8 p.m.

Each show concludes with a talk-back for which the cast stays to answer questions, discuss the show and what it's like to learn Elizabethan dialogue.

Audience members should bring folding chairs for seating, water, snacks, bug spray and umbrellas (optional.)
