The comedic farce "Boeing Boeing!" takes off Friday, Aug. 17, in Adventure Theater at Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tennessee, for seven weeks of performances through Oct. 4.

"'Boeing Boeing!' is the type of classic comedy that Playhouse audiences just love," says Producing Director Bryce McDonald. "And they'd better fasten their seat belts and get ready for a laughter-filled flight."

"Boeing Boeing!" was written by French playwright Marc Camoletti, and premiered in Paris in 1960, where it ran for 19 years. It was nominated for six Tony Awards in 2008 and won the award for Best Revival of a Play. The riotous farce was made into a popular film starring Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis in 1965.

Set in the swinging '60s, it's the hilarious tale of Bernard (played by Britt Hancock), an American ladies' man in Paris who deftly juggles a trio of fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent "layovers."

They are Italian hostess Gabriella (DeAnna Etchison), the German hostess Gretchen (Emma Jordan) and American hostess Gloria (Hannah Hays).

With a complex system based upon their flight schedules and some assistance from his disapproving housekeeper (Patty Payne), Bernard''s carefully constructed timetable runs like clockwork. That is, until a new, faster Boeing jet goes into service.

Bernard's high-flying lifestyle hits turbulence when his friend Robert (Jason Ross) comes to stay and the airlines' schedules change, bringing all three women to his apartment at the same time. Bernard's intricate ruse unravels in one wild, door-slamming night of comic mayhem.

"Boeing Boeing!" is directed by Donald Fann. It is rated PG for some mild language and sexually suggestive content.
